Police Blotter

These are incidents reported by the Wheaton Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

1 Criminal damage to vehicle: Between 6:45 and 8:48 p.m. on the 1900 block of Wexford Circle; someone threw a pumpkin at the windshield of a parked car, damaging the glass; damage is estimated at $500.

2 Criminal damage to vehicle: Between 2 and 7:05 p.m. on the 200 block of North Dorchester Avenue; someone threw a pumpkin through the windshield of a parked car; damage is estimated at $300.

3 Possession of marijuana: Victor Birk, 17, 900 block of Eddy Court; 5:47 p.m. on the 800 block of East Stoddard Avenue; charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

4 Battery: Edward Walsh, 40, 800 block of Summit Avenue; 7:10 p.m. on the 800 block of North Summit Avenue; charged with battery, resisting a peace officer and obstructing a peace officer.

5 Driving under the influence: Denise Goodhart, 39, Naperville; 5:27 p.m. on the 1000 block of Maple Street; charged with DUI and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

6 Burglary to vehicle: Sometime during the night on the 1000 block of Bristol Court; someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in a residential driveway and stole a laptop computer, a computer charger and a leather carrying case. The items are worth $2,700.

7 Retail theft: Shane Reid, 39, Carol Stream; 11:40 p.m. on the 900 block of West Liberty Avenue; charged with retail theft.

8 DUI: Maulvi Bey, 46, 600 block of Crescent Street; 12:09 a.m. at President Street and Roosevelt Road; charged with DUI, aggravated DUI, driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor.

9 DUI: Cheryl Middleton, 58, 100 block of North Wheaton Avenue; 1:07 a.m. at Harrison and Main streets; charged with DUI and improper lane usage. Police Report
