Chili cookoff set for Nov. 7

November 6, 2009

Downtown Wheaton Association will host a chili cookoff from noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 7 in downtown Wheaton.

Everyone is invited to take part in the event, which the association hopes to make an annual part of its schedule.

Participating restaurants will be selling tickets at $10 each which will entitle the bearer to all the chili they can eat. Ticket holders can visit all the participating restaurants, sample their best chili recipe and then gather at The Bank Restaurant at 3 p.m. to cast a vote using the ballot on the back of the ticket.

After all the votes are tallied, restaurants will be awarded first-, second- and third-place prizes.

Locations for the event are Muldoon's at 133 W. Front St., Suzette's Creperie at 211 W. Front St., Ivy at 120 N. Hale St., Genghis Grill, The Mongolian Stir Fry at 106 N. Hale St., Front Street Cocina at 112 W. Front St. and The Bank Restaurant, where the event culminates. It is at 121 W. Front St.
