With the instruments, the young people can join music classes, bands and summer music camps offered by the Salvation Army.
DuPage County residents donated all of the instruments including three tubas, 12 trombones, five clarinets, three trumpets, three cornets, three French horns, five violins and two guitars. Most of the contributions were made just prior to or following the 10th anniversary of the Wheaton Band Festival in mid-July.
Participants will help remove litter and trim trails. School groups, Scout troops, church groups and other organizations are invited to volunteer. The event is open to all ages, though children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
Reservations are required to join the cleanup. Waivers are also required for all volunteers, and those under 18 must have a parent or guardian's signature. For information or to make a reservation, call Volunteer Services at 630-933-7681.

The program involves volunteers of all ages helping their senior neighbors with fall yard work. Last year, 155 senior citizens benefited from Chore Days.
"We are looking for volunteers of all types for outdoor fun while helping their senior neighbors with seasonal yard chores," said Patricia Sims, Chore Days coordinator. "Adults, teens, families, churches, schools, Scouts, businesses and civic and social clubs are all welcomed to participate in this event. The more volunteers we have the more seniors we can serve."
Chore Days will be held the first three weekends in November. Seniors in need of help or those who would like to volunteer should call 630-620-0804.
The Shoppers Club is free to join.
