STNG NEWS ALERTS ::
Wheaton firefighters, with the help of the West Chicago, Warrenville and Bartlett fire departments, extinguish a fire Friday at Briar Glen Elementary School in Wheaton.  (Terence Guider-Shaw/Special to The Sun)
Neighbors crowded around yellow caution tape Friday, watching firefighters extinguish a blaze that began atop Briar Glen School in Wheaton. Two minor injuries were reported. Wheaton Fire Chief Greg Berk said the fire started on the south end of the building at about noon while summer repair work was going on at the school.

Before Corbin Bleu of Disney's "High School Musical" performs Friday night at the DuPage County Fair, a more local singer will take the stage. Eighteen year-old Justin Stein of Glencoe will open for Bleu during the 20-stop Corbin Bleu Summer 2008 tour. The DuPage County Fair is the venue closest to Stein's home.
