Tuesday, Oct. 27

Traffic: Alejandro Ruiz, 29, of the 100 block of N. 15th Street, St. Charles, was charged with felony unlawful possession of a license plate and unlawful possession of a registration, no valid registration and operating an uninsured vehicle in the 0-99 block of N. 15th Street, police said.

Saturday, Oct. 24

DUI: Sheila Mae Roumpas, 54, of the 200 block of Windsor Court, South Elgin, was charged Oct. 24 with DUI and improper signaling after a traffic stop in the 1100 block of E. Main Street, police said.

Friday, Oct. 23

Theft: The theft of a loaded gun stored in a vehicle was reported Oct. 23, police said. Police said the owner placed the Glock .45 automatic pistol in a pouch under the driver's seat and pulled into a business in the 2000 block of Lincoln Highway to have work done on the vehicle. The timeframe of the theft was between Aug. 25 and Oct. 17. The owner said that the weapon was in the vehicle because he was planning on going to a firing range, according to police. The gun had a $788 value.

Aggravated assault: Armando Gomez, 40, of the 1100 block of Iroquois Avenue, Naperville, was charged with aggravated assault, illegal trespass to government property and violation of bail bond after police were preparing to release him in the front lobby of the St. Charles Police Department at 2 State Avenue after a DUI arrest at 10:32 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 in the 2400 block of E. Main Street, police said. Police said Gomez refused to accept that police would drive him home and allegedly became combative with police, according to reports.

Thursday, Oct. 22

DUI: Oswaldo Ramirez-Cruz, 30, of the 300 block of S. 13th Street, St. Charles, was charged Oct. 22 at 11:45 p.m. with drunken driving, DUI over the 0.08 limit, improper lane usage, driving on a suspended driver's license, illegal transportation of alcohol, and operating an uninsured vehicle after a single-vehicle crash in the 1800 block of Riverside Avenue, police said.

Identity theft

Business scam: A St. Charles business reported being the victim of identity theft by an offender in New York state, St. Charles police said. The business account showed unauthorized cash advances and a request for new cards, which were issued to an address in New York state and the offender attempted to make purchases there. The attempted transactions were declined, and the bank closed the account, police said.
