WW South, ranked No. 1 in the nation by a panel of ESPN prep writers, got 12 kills from Thomas Jaeschke and 22 assists from Kit Bruzek to defeat Glenbrook North 25-21, 25-13 in the championship match of the IHSA boys state volleyball tournament at Hoffman Estates. The Tigers finished the season 42-0.

WW South and Glenbard East played for the fifth time this season Tuesday in a sectional in Wheaton. Although the ebb and flow of each match was different, the result was always the same. Tuesday, the Tigers won 25-19, 25-17.
