JCA open house
Joliet Catholic Academy will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 22 at the school, 1200 N. Larkin Ave. in Joliet.

Tours of the school will be available. Faculty, staff and students will be on hand throughout the day to answer questions.

Information on academics, athletics, clubs, and organizations will be available, as well as financial aid information, Franciscan/Carmelite scholarship applications and more.

Patriotic performance
Grammy-nominated national recording artist Maureen Christine and vocalist/entertainer Bradford Newquist will present a patriotic performance Nov. 18 at Lincoln-Way North High School, 19900 S. Harlem Ave., Frankfort.

The artists are teaming up with eight musicians of Michael Bazan's First Choice Orchestra to present a salute to veterans.

"This performance is sure to strike a chord in the heart of every patriot," said Denise Adducci, performing arts coordinator for Lincoln-Way High School District.

Tickets cost $8 and may be purchased in advance by calling Adducci at 815-534-3240. Seating is general admission, and the performance is approximately 75 minutes.

'Done to Death'
The Drama Club of Joliet Catholic Academy will perform "Done to Death" at 7 p.m. on Nov. 19-21 at Bicentennial Park, 201 W. Jefferson St., Joliet.

Tickets can be purchased in JCA's main office, 1200 Larkin Ave. in Joliet, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 16, or at the door.

Tickets cost $5, $3 for students, senior citizens and children 10 and younger.

Recruitment concert
Plainfield East High School bands will hold a concert to encourage middle school musicians to continue to pursue music in high school.

The PEHS Recruitment Concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Nov.19 in the Plainfield East auditorium, 12001 S. Naperville Road, Plainfield.

The concert will feature performances by the symphonic bands from Indian Trail and John F. Kennedy middle schools, as well as the PEHS marching and concert bands.

The concert will conclude with all 145 high school and middle school band members performing the PEHS "Bengal Fight Song" together.

The concert is free and open to the public.

"The Recruitment Concert is intended to invite and encourage our middle school students to continue with band into their high school years," PEHS director of bands David Lesniak said.

Art on Exhibit
Three seniors at Joliet Catholic Academy, Claire Jones, Allison Lennon and Felicia Roumeliotis, will have art pieces displayed at the Joliet Junior College Area High School Art Exhibition.

Students' artworks will be exhibited at the Laura A. Sprague Gallery at JJC on Nov. 16-Dec. 11.

The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Finals prep nights
To help high school freshmen better prepare for final exams, Lincoln-Way East and Lincoln-Way North high schools are hosting freshmen final exam prep nights.

Representatives from the various departments will be on hand to present information, study guides and test tips to help students succeed on their final exams.

Lincoln-Way East High School will host its exam prep from 7-8 p.m. Nov. 18; Lincoln-Way North High School will host its exam prep from 7-8 p.m. Nov. 23.

The events are free and open to all Lincoln-Way freshmen and their parents.
