'The Peaceful Potter': Join Plainfield Art League at 7 p.m. Nov. 11 for a fun filled evening with "The Peaceful Potter" Joe Hadamik. Joe will be demonstrating the technique of altering wheel thrown pots. This will be a hands on demo and visitors will be asked to participate. Dress accordingly. Italian Dinner: Good Shepherd Council 5573 of the Knights of Columbus will serve an Italian Dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 18 in the St. Mary Immaculate Gym. Cooked by Angelo and his Italian chefs, the menu includes mostaccioli with meat sauce, salad, bread. All adults can eat for $6.50. Children under 5 eat free and children from 5 to 12 at $4.50. The ladies will be selling deserts for 50 cents and coffee for 25 cents. A cash bar with pop, water, beer and wine will be available! Toys for Tots deadline: The Plainfield Fire Protection District will be collecting toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. Donations can now be dropped off at all fire stations as well as at the administration building in downtown Plainfield through Dec. 9. Please only donate new toys and do not gift wrap the toys. Clothing and used stuffed animals will not be accepted. For more information about the Toys for Tots program visit www.toysfortots.org.
