County clerk opens office in Plainfield

Offers more convenient location

November 4, 2009

PLAINFIELD -- The opening of a western Will County branch office of the county clerk in the Plainfield Township Office Building, 22525 W. Lockport Road, was announced by Will County Clerk Nancy Schultz Voots.

The staff at the new branch office will be able to issue marriage licenses and accept prepayment for certified copies of Will County birth, death and marriage certificates. Certificates that are pre-ordered at the branch office will be mailed out to the customer by the main office in Joliet the day the order is received.

"I am opening the Plainfield office to better serve the residents of western Will County and give them more convenient access to some of our most frequently utilized services," said Voots, who also operates branch offices in the eastern and northern parts of Will County. "I'd like to especially thank township clerk Anita Gerardy for helping us coordinate this effort."

Services at the new branch office are available by appointment only. To make an appointment or obtain more information, call 815-436-8308, send an e-mail to agerardy@plainfield-township.com or visit the Web site at www.thewill countyclerk.com and click on Office Services.
