The 2010 primary is mostly over and everything went pretty well. As usual, Will County Clerk Nancy Schultz Voots and her capable staff had things humming. The polls opened and closed, right as rain. The votes were counted by 9:30 p.m., so the winners and losers knew the score before last call at the bar. Was that enough?

Plainfield N. stumbles in fourth
Plainfield North followed a familiar course during a 44-43 nonconference loss to Naperville North on Saturday. Like they have done in nearly all of their losses, the Tigers (17-5) struggled through a bad stretch, rallied to take a lead, then lost a close decision.
South rises again in Plainfield
The 15-point halftime lead was gone with 1 minutes 35 seconds remaining in the third quarter. Certainly Plainfield South had led long enough. It was time for Plainfield North to take control of Friday night's Southwest Prairie Conference and District 202 battle.

Jackson's doctor pleads not guilty to manslaughter
Michael Jackson’s doctor has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of the pop star. Dr. Conrad Murray, a Houston cardiologist who was with Jackson when he died June 25, entered his plea Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court just hours after he was charged. He could face up to four years in prison if convicted. Murray was charged early Monday, capping an exhaustive investigation into the pop star's stunning death last summer.
