Rees shines for Lake Forest under the stars
LAKE FOREST – It was the first night game ever here at Lake Forest High’s new football field.
And the brightest star was the home-team’s QB.
Junior quarterback Thomas Rees completed 32 of 53 passes for 261 yards and 3 touchdowns, leading the host Scouts to a dramatic 30-15 win Friday night over pesky Palatine.
Rees threw two TD passes in the second half when Lake Forest rallied from a 7-6 deficit to earn the win.
The Scouts clinched the game when T.J. Jackson raced two yards for a touchdown with 1:58 left.
The contest was the first played under the new, permanent lights that were just installed at Lake Forest’s new football field.
A near-capacity crowd jammed the stands and were not disappointed.
Lake Forest has a huge game next Friday night against powerful Deerfield, which also won impressively on Friday night.
