WEEKEND WARRIORS

ANTIOCH

• Girls Cross Country -- Senior Erin Poss finished sixth at the IHSA Class 2A state meet, averaging 6:00 per mile for the three-mile race.

LAKES

• Boys Cross Country -- Freshman Ryan Prais finished 16th at the iHSA Class 2A state meet, averaging 5:11 per mile for the three-mile race. Of the 15 runners who beat him, eight were seniors.

LAKE FOREST

• Boys Cross Country -- Senior Henry Mynatt finished 28th and was the top area performer at the IHSA Class 3A (big schools) state meet. He averaged 5;02 per mile for the three-mile race.

• Girls Swimming -- Mika Hlavin won the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races and swam leadoff on the winning 200- and 400-yard freestyle relay teams to lead the Scouts to the team title in the North Suburban Conference meet. Other winners included Rachel Stoehr in the 500 freestyle, and Olivia Campbell in the 100 backstroke.

LIBERTYVILLE

• Girls Cross Country -- Megan Janezic completed her prep cross-country career with a 66th-place finish in a 211-girl field at the IHSA Class 3A state meet. She averaged 6:12 per mile on the three-mile course.

• Girls Swimming -- Maggie Boling won the 100 breaststroke and Morgan Dickson won the 200 individual medley at the North Suburban Conference meet. Margaux Weiner took second in the 100 backstroke.

MUNDELEIN

• Girls Swimming -- The 200-yard medley relay team of Emma Engdahl, Cassie Brueckbauer, Lauren Anderson and Amy Klink finished first at the North Suburban Conference meet. Klink was second in the 50 freestyle, Anderson was second in the 100 butterfly, and Brueckbauer was second in the 100 breaststroke.

VERNON HILLS

• Girls Swimming -- Melanie Rowland won the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.45) and took second in the 500 freestyle at the North Suburban Conference meet. Zoe Eldridge was second in the 100 freestyle, and the Cougars were second in both freestyle relays.

WARREN

• Girls Swimming -- Leading the Devils at the North Suburban Conference meet was the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Micah Pritchett, Bethany Drebing, Maddy Hennelly and Rita Nelson which finished third.
