Sweet 16 finish for Prais at state

PEORIA – Lakes High freshman Ryan Prais finished 16th here Saturday at the IHSA Class 2A (smaller schools) state boys cross-country meet.

He averaged 5:11 per mile for the three-mile race, and of the 15 runners who beat him, eight were seniors.

Prais was the only area runner in the Class 2A event.

In the team scoring, Belvidere North, Normal U-High and Springfield finished 1-2-3.
