Lake Forest’s Mynatt is top area runner at state

PEORIA – Lake Forest High senior Henry Mynatt finished 28th and was the top area performer at the IHSA Class 3A (big schools) state boys cross-country meet here on Saturday.

He averaged 5;02 per mile for the three-mile race.

Lake Zurich qualified its entire team for the state meet and the Bears were led by Andrew Morrison, who finished 63rd, and Paul Geimer, who placed 76th.

As a team, Lake Zurich finished 16th. Neuqua Valley, Loyola Academy and York finished 1-2-3 in the team event.

Round Lake High junior Juan Carrera, who usually runs with Mynatt, averaged 5:27 per mile and finished 169th.
