Sequoits eliminated in first round of Marian Central Regional

May 14, 2008

Antioch High's girls soccer team suffered a disappointing ending to a successful season on Tuesday, as the Sequoits were eliminated in the first round of the Marian Central Regional by upstart Richmond-Burton 3-2.

Antioch (11-5-2) came into state tournament play as the fourth seed in the Libertyville Sectional Complex, but the 13th-seeded Rockets had other ideas when they tallied a trio of second half goals to stun the Sequoits.

Kia Miller put in a pair of second half goals for Antioch, but it wasn't enough to prevent the upset.
