Sequoits softball team goes 2-2 at Rockford Invitational

The Antioch Sequoits split four games Saturday at the Rockford Invitational, alternating losses with wins all day long.

The day began with a 6-2 loss to Harlem, with Ashley Mysliewiec suffering the loss. Sammie Seamon went 2 for 4 with a double.

Antioch then bested Dundee Crown 9-5 with Lindsay Callanan going 3 for 4 with a double, Candice Schmidt going 2 for 4 with a triple and Allie Antilla hitting a four-bagger.

Antioch then lost a 7-5 battle against Lake County foe Zion-Benton, with Mysliewiec again the losing pitcher of record. The Sequoits had seven hits, including a triple, in the loss.

Antioch then pounded home 10 runs to beat Richmond 10-4. Angela Marescalco went 2 for 4 with a double and Melisa Ori was 3 for 4 with a triple.

The team next plays Stevenson at home on Monday. The Sequoits are 20-11 on the year.
