Janus ties school record for Lake Zurich

September 29, 2007

Running back Jon Janus tied a school record with four touchdowns in Lake Zurich’s 55-6 victory over visiting Zion-Benton on Friday.

Janus scored on touchdown runs of 52, 6 and 4 yards in the first half, plus caught a 61-yard TD pass from quarterback Bobby DeLeo.

It tied a record set by the late Chris Redding in a contest in 2002.

Lake Zurich (5-1 overall, 4-0 in the North Suburban Conference Lake Division) scored on its first seven possessions of the game.

The lone score for Zion (1-5, 0-4) came in the second quarter when Quintrell Love caught a TD pass from quarterback T.J. Trepanier.
