At Niles West

SKOKIE – Chicago Vocational defeated Lake Forest 39-36 here Saturday in the third-place game at the Niles West holiday prep boys basketball tournament.

The eight-team tournament featured two four-team pools, and both CVS and the Scouts went 2-1 in their respective pools.

Lake Forest opened the tourney with a tough loss to state-power Glenbrook North, then beat Niles West and Chicago Urban Prep (formerly Englewood High) before bowing to Chicago Vocational.

The Scouts will not play again until next Saturday when it has a danger game at Carmel.
