Antioch-based Bandits excel in 12-under tourney

The Antioch-based Bordertown Bandits' age 12-under travel softball team finished fifth recently in the NSA-sanctioned Kankakee Blast tournament.

The Bandits went 5-2 in the event, beating the Grant Jr. Dawgs, Kankakee Aftershock, Dyer Indiana Elite Fire, Flossmoor Hurricanes Elite and Illinois Edge Chaos.

The Bandits' losses were to eventual tourney champ Bradley Team Oak and tourneyh runnerup Orland Park A's.

Team members included Anna McIlhaney, Taylor Shiltz, Maddie Hart, Bella Hoffman, Kayla Switalla, Hannah Skoog, Natalie Ivins, Danielle Sychowski, Sarah Littleton, Kiana Vasquez and Morgan Placencia.
