Waukegan-based Seahorses gear up for big home meet

The Waukegan-based Northern Lake County YMCA Seahorses youth swimming team had several top performances in a recent meet against the Central Lake County YMCA.

"Even though the practices are focusing more on strength than speed, we are seeing some great times early in the season," said Seahorses coach Mike Hewitt. "Our next three meets are large invitationals in fast pools, and we expect even more time drops."

Next up for the Seahorses is their own Seahorse Invitational at the Northern Lake County YMCA in Waukegan on Nov. 8.
