Don't know if there's such a thing as a quota on the number of perfect games that can be rolled by residents of one city.

But if there is, we now know the reason why so few of the rest of us have been fortunate enough to post a 300 game. Michael Hersman is hogging them all.

Last weekend, the 18-year-old who is a senior at Waukegan High, rolled a 300 game in the Youth League at Bertrand Lanes in Waukegan -- starting off a day of bowling that ended with a 693 series (300-158-235).

That is an accomplishment in itself.

But you can multiply that by four, as it was the FOURTH perfect game in the teen's 10-year member of the house's Youth League.

Bertrand Lanes in Waukegan is hosting the annual State Senior Bowling Tournament, and a local duo has grabbed the early lead in the doubles competition.

Dave Sloan rolled a whopping 735 series and his partner, Charlie Carpenter, had a 602. With 172 handicap pins, the team leads with 1,509.
