Knights' soccer team in Peek form

September 11, 2008

Winning is becoming a nice habit for the boys soccer team at Grayslake North High.

Lead by the brick-wall goaltending of junior Nolan Peak, the Knights blanked pesky Mundelein 1-0 on Wednesday to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Brian Stout scored the game's goal, tallying off a head-pass from Jorge Gomez in just the fifth minute of the contest.

"The kids came out today and really tried to take the game to Mundelein, dictating the momentum and the possession," noted Knights coach Adam DeCaluwe. "But give credit to Mundelein. "They definitely gave us a run for our money toward the end of the match.

"Thanks to a fantastic group effort from our defense, we were able to hold off their attack."

DeCaluwe also liked the work of Grayslake players Chris Myers, Josh Harmon and Josh Larson.

Next up for North is a Thursday home match against Huntley.

Mundelein is now 4-4 on the season.
