beloved hospital. But in the insular three years the student nurses lived and studied in
the 150-room school attached to the former St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan, they formed a bond that has lasted five decades.

Baseball is America's pastime. It's also game known for its numbers. Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak, Cal Ripken's record of 2,632 consecutive games played and Hank Aaron's 755 career home runs all tell stories much larger than the numbers themselves. Mention any one of these numbers to a baseball fan and you're sure to call to mind memories and anecdotes.

which is considered a milestone for a district with a population
estimated at less than 40,000.

If the typical Stephen King novel leaves you too petrified to go to
bed at night, Gurnee's Diana Vickery is hoping her Web site dedicated
to "cozy books" will help people find some tame, yet enthralling,
reading. Vickery's Web site, cozylibrary.com , caters to fans of
cozy books, a term to describe mostly mystery novels free from strong
language, explicit sex and heavy violence.
