Winthrop Harbor Fire Dept. anniversary
Saturday the Winthrop Harbor Fire Department celebrated its 60th anniversary. Past and current firefighters at the paid-on-premise department
celebrated with a nearly daylong event, which featured a memorial, a
parade and a picnic.
Winthrop Harbor firefighters Nicole Mammoser, right, Shauna Haske, center, and John Levin compete as a team in a firefighter game called bucket brigade. Teams were timed to see how quickly they could fill up a 55-gallon drum with water. The Winthrop Harbor Fire Department celebrated its 60th anniversary Saturday in conjunction with the Village of Winthrop Harbor’s Summer Carnival at 38-Acre Park.
