Jenny Mitchell Always a smile, despite the pain
The most amazing person I know is my dearest friend in the world, Jenny Mitchell.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer in the spring of 2007. That summer, we found out it had become Stage 4 with metastasis to her bones.
Some people would have given up, gotten angry or depressed. Not Jen. She's been fighting this disease with a full arsenal of prayer, diet, faith, chemo and other treatments.
Through this whole ordeal she has held down a full-time job, helped coordinate her Church's Children's Ministries, been a supportive wife to her husband Sam and a wonderful mother to her beautiful 1 ½ -year-old daughter -- Ranee -- and the absolute best friend anyone could ask for.
She's always done whatever she can for her loved ones and cancer has not changed that. This disease has strengthened her faith and zest for life. It has strengthened her marriage, our friendship and touched each area of her life.
Many times I reached out to help her these past few months, and it has been she who ended up helping me. I don't think she understands what she has done for the people in her life and I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank her for who she is and all she has done. She amazes me each day.
We recently found out she's in remission. I think this means that God has more work for her to do, and I am forever grateful. I love you, Jen.
