Talk of the County

In the floodplain
This is about Gurnee Grade School. It is so stupid that it was built in a floodplain and the rest of us are paying for it.
Constitutional law
I keep reading in TOTC that government-run health care is a right. Have these people ever read the Constitution of the United States? If they did, they would find out that there is no "right" to government-run health care or the redistribution of wealth that is going on with the Obama administration. Read the Constitution and you will find that the Democrats controlling our country are breaking the law with just about every step they take. Our country was founded based on constitutional law and all of the people in Washington should read it!
Frank, Earnest
Thanks for bringing back "Frank and Ernest". I never read the comic strip that was replaced and I do enjoy "Frank and Ernest." Thank you.
Turned away
Regarding senior vaccinations for the H1N1 virus, I have been to three different places where they were giving them and stood in line along with four of my friends who are in their 70s. We were turned away.
Foreign blouses
I bought three blouses at the Navy Exchange, but didn't realize until I got home that one was made in Sri Lanka, one in China and one in Malaysia. Why is the federal government buying from other countries to the detriment of American businesses and jobs?
Death sentence
I'm a kidney transplant patient and have also had open-heart surgery. I received a letter from the hospital saying that not only do I need one shot, but two shots. I didn't know where to go so I called the Health Department. The lady listened to me explain my situation she said to me: "You're too old to get the vaccine." It's like somebody giving me a death sentence. I'm surprised she didn't say "Have a nice day!" So what are seniors going to do?
Mounted patrol
Waukegan should get rid of the patrol horse division. It cost a lot of money to bring four horses to the school and four men on it. Put the men on the road where people can see them and they can do some good.
The interpreter
To the person who wrote in about the interpreter in the photo of Waukegan's preschool program: That interpreter is for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
Media attacks
Some people say that Bush was never attacked by the media like Obama. Do you know who Dan Rather is? Maybe you have selective hearing or memory? Bush never went after a news outlet like Obama is doing now. Could it be because Fox is right on the money with the stories they have, unlike the lies Rather was fired for. When it happens to your guy, "it is very divisive," but when it happened to Bush it "was a story."
Saving the horses
I'm so happy to hear the good news about the mounted horse patrol in Waukegan being saved by a special group of children. Thank you, Gabriella, for caring enough to help these horses remain in Waukegan, and accolades to Holly Nash, the teacher who is spearheading the drive. We are so proud of all the children helping to save the horses.
What now?
We keep gutting regulations and giving tax breaks to the rich and it does not seem to help. What do we do now?
Balanced budget
Bill Clinton borrowed billions from Social Security and who knows where else. This is no way to balance the budget. Learn to live within your means.
Depleted vaccine
So, we are out of flu shots. And why? All the illegal immigrants in this county depleted them quickly. I have heart problems, but because this county caters to these people who don't belong here, I missed out. I'm sorry, but if you don't belong here, you shouldn't be entitled to get that shot before those of us who do belong here. They get welfare, free medical care and now they get the shots before anyone else.
