talk of the county

Big government
Like so many Americans, I oppose government control of our health-care system. Our country was built on free enterprise and I believe it is still the best system. Please remember that we put you in office and we can vote you out if you fail to represent our best interest, which most definitely is not more big government.
Customer friendly
If you really want a fiasco, just move into a different home and attempt to get North Shore Gas to charge you only for the days you live in the home prior to moving. They are not a customer-friendly company in comparison to ComEd, not one bit. They need some competition.
Fox News
It is understandable that Fox TV is on the enemies list of the Obama administration. Unlike the other TV networks, Fox is not slobbery in love with President Obama. He characterized Fox News as not a TV news station, but it was first in reporting the corruption in ACORN to which Obama was closely affiliated.
It's scary
President Obama explained his decision to cut off cooperation with Fox News by saying the network is more like talk radio than legitimate news. Then he goes into a two-and-a-half-hour meeting with half a dozen liberal media types, including, of all people, Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow, both of whom might be described as representative of the extreme left wing of the Democratic Party. They are to the left what Hannity is to the right. It's scary when the president and the White House start treating established media the way one might expect from some Third World dictator. Every legitimate journalist should be outraged.
Guns at school
The Waukegan high school campus on a lockdown put my children at risk because of some useless gangbangers. Do those metal detectors at the school work or are they just for show? Guns at school? Maybe I should arm my children myself so they can protect themselves seeing as how you've lost control of the asylum!
Flu vaccine
In 2004, the media and the Democrats were quick to blame President Bush for a flu vaccine shortage. This year, I've seen and read a lot about lack of flu vaccine availability, but zero criticism of President Obama. Isn't that odd? Is President Obama somehow less responsible for the actions of the Food and Drug Administration than Bush was?
Starving artists
I don't think anyone is suggesting that teachers are getting rich or that they have an easy job. If it was so easy, you wouldn't need an education to do it and there would be no shortage. However, teachers are paid well and can steadily increase their pay by continuing their education. I know of several teachers in Lake County approaching six-figure incomes and one or two into six figures. Not rich by my definition, but not exactly starving artists, either.
Utopian rage
As liberal ideas have continued to lose at the polls over the last two decades, Democrats have become the party of utopian rage as they persist in replacing real political debate with effusive attacks on conservatives while promising to create an idyllic society for Americans. Barack Obama epitomized these politics when he built a movement offering hope as his main political platform.
Quality of life
The parents that complain they will have to drive their kids from town to town for trick-or- treating are probably the same people who give them shopping bags and send them running into the streets during parades. It's just plain greedy.
Has your life improved since Obama has been in office?
Plain greedy
