'Expert' commentary

While I don't usually respond to Letters to the Editor, I couldn't let this one pass. I'm referring to the April 23 letter from the self-proclaimed "expert on township government in Illinois" Janice Schnobrich (who has twice run unsuccessfully for township supervisor, against me).

As an expert on township government, as she proudly proclaims, Mrs. Schnobrich should realize that the Board of Trustees unanimously approved the road improvement funding. The irony is that Trustees Sexton and Wagner who supported the funding also ran on the same slate as Mrs. Schnobrich. The final kicker is that the Highway Commissioner, Bill Goodman supported the funding for the road project and was also with that slate.

The final vote of the Board was 5-0. That's democracy. Given her expertise on township government, Mrs. Schnobrich truly believes and more importantly wants the public to believe that I am the "Grand Poobah" of Shields Township. That is a complete contradiction to what is reality. I'll give one thing to Mrs. Schnobrich and that is she is consistently inconsistent. It seems that she isn't the knowledgeable expert that she proclaims to be.

I'm sure the readers can look forward to more of your well crafted "expert" commentary on township government and me.
