Thursday, May 15, 2008
He is Lake County's only armed village administrator. Lindenhurst's interim village administrator is Police Chief Jack McKeever. "I'm not giving up my police chief role," said McKeever following his appointment this week by Mayor Susan Lahr.

Lindenhurst officials are searching for a successor for retiring Village Administrator Jim Stevens, who is continuing to work a few hours a week to help his interim replacement, Police Chief Jack McKeever.

As The Hound was standing in line at the Post Office for one-cent stamps to match up with the leftover 41-cent stamps which no longer are valid, steam was coming out of those big ears. It was just last year that the U.S. Postal Service raised stamp prices to 41 cents and now the cost of mailing a first-class letter is 42 cents.
