Gurnee/Grayslake ::
Friday, November 20, 2009

GURNEE -- New rules for the parking and storage of RVs and utility haul trailers on residential property were advanced to the Village Board Wednesday.

On the heels of a News-Sun story reporting Lake County foreclosures have jumped 82 percent this year, the state's Mortgage Relief Project will be in Grayslake next month to help area homeowners take advantage of programs that can help them keep their homes.

Adam Kalinowski, 93, of Gurnee was known to shower friends, family and grandkids with candy. Sadly, Kalinowski died in a car crash Wednesday night on Washington Street at Cemetery Road. His friends at Knollwood Club in Lake Forest will always remember him as "the candy man" and namesake of the Caddy of the Year Award.

Just in time for the premiere of AMC's "The Prisoner" remake, we learn Illinois may be the home to some 200 al-Qaida terrorists currently near a Cuban beach in Guantanamo Bay. The Hound says ship them to the Thomson Correctional Center. We might as well make something off the Jihadists.
