Warren High girl crowned Miss Teen Illinois International
WADSWORTH -- A Wadsworth teenager has been named Miss Teen Illinois International 2010.
Sarah Bertrand, who competed as Miss Teen Wadsworth, promoted "The Education and Prevention of Eating Disorders in Teen Girls" in the platform-based competition held recently at the College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn.
A sophomore at Warren Township High School, she will visit schools and organizations throughout Illinois to educate girls on recognizing the symptoms of an eating disorder, the effects an eating disorder has on the body, provide information on resources to tap if they are struggling, and healthy food options. She hopes to partner with the National Eating Disorder Association to achieve this goal.
Sarah was also presented with the Best in Evening Gown Award and tied for Best in Aerobic Wear. She will vie for the title of Miss Teen International 2010 on July 22 through July 24, 2010, at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, Skokie.
