Mildred Armstrong
Her name is Mildred B. Armstrong and she lives in Greenwood, Ind. She first came into my life when I met my husband-to-be, Stan, in 1977. Mildred has been my dear mother-in-law and someone I have considered my 'other mother' for 31 years now.
When I read or hear stories about other women's mother-in-Iaws, I realize just how fortunate I am to have the one that came with my husband; sort of a package deal.
They say you can tell how a man will treat you by how they treat their mother. I knew from everything Stan told me about her in the beginning, that he truly loved and cherished her. I could not wait to meet her, yet I was also somewhat nervous of what she would think of me or if I was even good enough for her only son.
If I had any fears that day about meeting her, they were quickly doused. She turned out to be everything Stan had 'bragged' about, and more. I found her to be warm, gentle, kind, generous, loving, a good listener, and sweet. And, if all that wasn't enough she also was the best cook and baker that ever walked the face of this earth! I hit the jack pot--literally!
Mother, I just want to say that I thank the Lord every single day for your presence in my life.
You have treated me like your own daughter from day one. I thank you for that and I just want everyone reading this to know how truly special you are to me and always will be. God bless you!
Happy Mother's Day!
