Recycle-O-Rama Saturday at Warren-Newport Library

The second annual Recycle-O-Rama, co-sponsored by Solid Waste Agency of Lake County and Warren-Newport Public Library District, will be held at the library, 224 N. O'Plaine Road, Gurnee, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free event will celebrate America Recycles Day.

There will be a swap table with books, DVDs and music CDs (Bring that movie you've watched too many times or that CD you've heard over and over again and swap it for a different one.) Also featured is a yarn and fabric swap table for artists and crafters.

Bring items for recycling and learn the process. Acceptable items for recycling include eyeglasses, cell phones, ink jet cartridges, beads, buttons, keys, unusable CDs and DVDs, wine corks (no plastics), Nabisco cookie wrappers, plastic bags and film/wrap and gym shoes.

Special displays and information booths will include Warren-Township High School Mother Earth's Concerned Students, Stormwater Management, Lake County Soil & Water, College of Lake County Environmental Club, Lion's Club, Artworks Children's Museum, Chipotle, University of Illinois Extension and WNPL Teen Advisory Group.

There will be activities for kids, composting demos, rain barrels. free goodies and prize giveaways.
