Prison term for robbing pizza delivery man

November 6, 2009

A 19-year-old Chicago man has pleaded guilty to beating and robbing a pizza delivery man in Waukegan.

Jefferson Dominguez, 19, was sentenced to 11 years in prison on a plea to armed robbery.

On Nov. 13, 2008, Dominguez ordered a pizza to be delivered to an unoccupied residence in the 200 block of Liberty Street in Waukegan and waited outside, authorities said.

Once Dominguez came in contact with the deliveryman, he struck him with an object and took money and the pizza, court documents said.

The victim was taken to Vista Medical Center East, Waukegan, and was treated for a head injury.

Police arrested Dominguez several days later.
