Roberts gets top Dem spot in sheriff primary

November 6, 2009

In a brief ballot placement lottery Thursday morning, attorney Douglas Roberts of Beach Park won the top ballot spot in the Democratic primary for the office of Lake County sheriff.

Following Roberts on the Democratic primary ballot will be John Krempotic of North Chicago, a former sheriff's deputy.

The winner of the primary will face incumbent Republican Sheriff Mark Curran in the Nov. 2 general election.

The lottery, held Thursday by the Lake County Clerk's Office, also determined ballot position for some precinct committeeman races.
