Round Lake encouraged

November 5, 2009

Round Lake officials are encouraged by calls for action for the Route 120 bypass and widening project.

"At least hopefully, we can all have one voice," said Trustee Dale Multerer, a member of the Route 120 Corridor Planning Council.

Village Administrator Marc Huber noted that funding for the $500 million project is nowhere in sight. The phase one engineering is expected to run in the millions.

The council has long supported the widening of Route 120. Other Round Lake area communities also have gone on record in support of the expanding the two-lane road.

"Now it's up to the public to call their state legislators," Multerer said.
