Foresters seek Fox River Preserve comments

November 5, 2009

The Lake County Forest Preserve District is seeking public input on a preliminary concept plan to guide recreation and natural resource restoration activities for a 312-acre addition to the Fox River Preserve near Barrington.

The public is invited to review and discuss the plan at an open house next Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lake Barrington Village Hall, 23860 N. Old Barrington Rd., Lake Barrington.

Forest preserve staff will gather feedback on the concept plan and answer questions about the preserve. Those unable to attend the open house can view the plan at www.LCFPD.org/fpplan, and e-mail comments to Kirsten Sittler, landscape architect, at ksittler@lcfpd.org or call her at (847) 968-3270.

All comments will be reviewed by the Forest Preserve Board and taken into consideration for the site's planning. A final conceptual master plan will be developed and presented to the board next spring.
