TYPHOON DRIVE: Waukegan High School's Asian Club is holding a clothing drive to assist families affected by typhoons Ondoy (Ketsana) and Pepeng (Parma) in the Philippines. Asian Club members are collecting gently used clothing, shoes, blankets, towels, slippers and book bags to donate through the Philippines Red Cross. Donations will be collected through November and can be dropped off at 2632 Ridgeland Ave. The two massive storms devastated the Philippines in late September and early October, killing hundreds of people and leaving thousands homeless. The destruction hit close to home for the Asian Club, roughly 40 of whose 50 members are of Philippine descent. The club can be reached at gvillaruz@wps60.org .
