Lake Forest College

Lecture: Nel Noddings, a leading figure in the field of educational philosophy, will deliver the annual Ruth Winter Lecture at Lake Forest College titled "School Reform in a Democratic Spirit" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel, Sheridan and College Roads. University of Illinois Extension, Grayslake

Ceremony: The university will host the 4-H Recognition of Excellence Awards Ceremony at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Lake County Fairgrounds, 1060 E. Peterson Road. The event recognizes 4-H leaders, members and 4-H Clubs that strived for excellence in the 2008-2009 program year. This year's theme will be "Celebrate 4-H."

University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Kenosha

Installation: The installation and investiture of Deborah L. Ford will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday on the campus at 900 Wood Road. Ford is the sixth chancellor to lead UW-Parkside since the campus opened in 1968. University of Wisconsin System President Kevin Reilly will preside over the formal installation and investiture ceremony. The proceedings will include an address by Ford.
