Best Moms ::
Saturday, May 10, 2008
I love my mom because she is such a strong person. Between her and my father, they did everything they could to raise me and my brother well and give us every opportunity to succeed in life.

My dear sweet mother left me to be with our Lord Nov. 8, 2002. Even though she is no longer here to love comfort and help me with her words of wisdom and lifetime experience, her spirit lives within me.

"A mother is a person, who sees there are only four pieces of pie for five people, and promptly announces she never did care for pie." Tenneva Jordan once wrote.

My mother is an incredible and amazing mom!

Why my mom is the best

My mom is the best mom in the world, she's always been there for me and my siblings.

My mother stands about 5 feet and weighs about 126. She is a strong woman in spite of her fragile little body that suffers from high blood pressure.

To say my mom is special would be an understatement.

I am incredibly thankful that God has given my mom to me and my twin sisters, Martha and Mary.

Thinking about my mom warms my heart and brings a smile to my face.

I could never ask for a better mother than mine! Barbara Darrow. She has always been there for my brother and I. We lost our Dad when we were little, and lost our Step Dad last year, and through it all, she has always put her own pain aside to keep us strong when we wanted to give up. She is not just my mom, she is my best friend. She was even my matron of honor in my wedding! She is also the best grandmother. She is sweet, loving, funny and just a great person to be around. She has always been there for me when I needed advice, a shoulder to cry on, or when I just want to share a laugh. She is the greatest.

This is a different twist on a Mother's Day story.

My mother exceeds every expectation of the definition of mother.

My mother deserves this special Mother's Day recognition because she has gone through so much over the past few years.

My most memorable moment with my mom is when she took me to the Hunt Club Water Park two years ago.

I have a 6-year-old brother and a 6-year-old sister. It seems like I have more because I always have to share my mom.

To truly express my love, admiration, and respect for my grandmother would take pages, days, and a lot of Kleenex.

Through my mother I have learned what it means to be a true woman, a good mother and a real friend.

"You are beautiful, and don't let anyone tell you different", said my mother when I was in the fifth grade.

Most people grow up with mothers and others are less fortunate. I know I am blessed because not only do I have a mother but I have a special connection with her. The definition in society of a mother is they clean up, keep the house in order , have children and be a stay at home mom. There are women, wives and mothers who might do some of those things that I have listed but my mom does them all and so much more. My mother is not only and all those things I listed she is my best friend through thick and thin. She is my light when I'm lost in the dark. She is my shoulder when I need someone to lean on. Yes we get into arguments and we don't always agree with each other but when the dust settles she is always there for me. If I told you my life-long story about all that my mom and I have been through and all that she's done for me, it wouldn't be a one page paper it would be more like a book! My mother is the definition of what a hard working woman means. She has not only birthed eight children into the world, she has made sure that each and everyone one of us gets the things that we need as well as the things that we wanted and has also taught us standards, morals and values in life. She wants all of us to be the best we can be. She is the glue that keeps are family together and at times that glue can get annoying but she is only trying to make sure that we are doing what is best. So for this Mother's Day I would want nothing more on behalf of my family I am writing this letter in honor of my mother. She is a strong independent woman who deserves the best and that is what my mother means to me and this is exactly what she deserves for this Mother's Day.

My mom is an amazing mom, she has suffered through cancer, gastric bypass surgery and Hurricane Katrina in Mississippi in August 2005.

Her name is Mildred B. Armstrong and she lives in Greenwood, Ind. She first came into my life when I met my husband-to-be, Stan, in 1977. Mildred has been my dear mother-in-law and someone I have considered my 'other mother' for 31 years now.

I would like to nominate my mom for Lake County's Best Mom, because my mom has raised three children by herself. My mom has always supported us in school, tap dance (Marva Joyce), and athletic sports. I remember when my mom use to work two jobs, and still manage to make it to football games, drill team competitions, and award ceremony's. She was always able to prepare a hot meal for us. My mom also knew how important her children were, by keeping us on the right track and respecting others. I now find myself doing some of the same things. I guess the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree! That's why I'm nominating my mom for Lake County's Best Mom!

Why I think my mom is the best is because when I go to KeyLime Cove she will maybe say yes, and when we do go she spends her money on us for tokens which is awesome!

Why I love my mother, and the reason why she is special to me?

"Quiet and unassuming, " these words describe our mother in her Libertyville High School yearbook. As a youngster I didn't really understand what unassuming meant. We know it to be our mom because she is not bold or arrogant and she is very modest. The quiet part is true, also, but Oh! does she love to laugh.

During my long battle with mental illness and alcoholism, my mother never abandoned me. For many years, my extreme mania and drinking left me in life threatening situations that I was helpless to get out of.

My mother is a very special person to me.

My mom was diagnosed in 1998 with sarcoidosis, fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis.

My mom, Juanita Koble is the best mom anyone could ever wish for. She turns 75 years old on May 21 and has been so loving and devoted all her life, not just to her children but her grandchildren as well as her great grandchildren who call her Gee-Gee.

Mother, your name is the sweetest name I know besides Jesus. You have been there for me whenever I needed you. Whether it was for guidance, money, prayers, or even discipline or a shoulder to cry on. There were times I though I was going to lose my mind and give up but you stepped up just like God did in my life. I'm glad I have a praying spiritual mother. I've seen how God has changed your life.

I met Carol Froio in the early 1980s. She has been an ongoing inspiration to me. Especially as a mother. She has been one of a few woman throughout my life who has shown me life will be hard and unfair.

Your love has been like the bright sunshine and the sky blue. I can remember some things, it seems like, since I was two, because I had someone to hold on to, who was true.

Our Mother and Nana is our heroine.

My mom is the best! She is my best friend. She has always been there for me anytime I need her. My mom is the most caring, loving and giving person I know. She has a heart of gold. She is a wonderful grandma. Her grandkids lover her to pieces. We are very thankful for her everyday.

Swami: Last month you called on the Waukegan City Council to get rid of public comment time, and instead they came up with some list of "commandments" to keep people in line. Since they didn't listen to you the first time, what's your alternate plan? Ferme La Bouche.
