THE LAKE COUNTY NEWS-SUN TUESDAY PETS MONTHLY DRAWING

1. HOW TO ENTER. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN A PRIZE. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. The Lake County News-Sun Tuesday Pets Monthly Drawing (the "Sweepstakes") begins March 4, 2008 and ends at the discretion of Sponsor (the "Sweepstakes Period"). Enter the Sweepstakes by sending your first and last name, address, telephone number, email address and a photograph of a pet (the "Photo"). Either legibly write or type this information on the entry and drop it off at, or mail it to Lake County News-Sun, 2383 N. Delany Road, Waukegan, IL 60087 , ATTN: Tuesday Pets, or email it to tdelany@scn1.com Entrant's Photo must be solely entrant's own original work, must not be taken by anyone other than the entrant and must comply with Sponsor's Submission Guidelines which can be found at www.suntimes.com/aboutus/submissions.stng. Those entries that do not provide all the required information or whose Photos do not conform with the guidelines set forth in these rules will be disqualified and discarded. All entries become property of the Lake County News-Sun ("Sponsor") and will not be returned. Entrants, and entrant's parent or legal guardian, acknowledge that by entering, the entrant's first name and entry may be published in the Lake County News-Sun newspaper, on Sponsor's or Sponsor's affiliates' web sites, or both. Sponsor reserves the right to edit the stories for publishing. Entries that are forged, altered, or mechanically reproduced will not be accepted and will be void.

2. ELIGIBILITY: The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of Lake County aged 13 years or older, except employees of the Sponsor, its parent and affiliated companies, advertising agencies, and promotional partners, and relatives of and those living in the same household as such employees. For the purpose of this Sweepstakes, relatives are defined as spouse, mother, father, in-laws, grandmother, grandfather, brother, sister, children and grandchildren. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited.

3. SELECTION OF WINNERS: Each Monday during the Sweepstakes Period, all eligible entries will be judged by editors from the Sponsor (whose judging decisions are final) on the following criteria: creativity and originality and between two and five eligible photos will be posted on the following Tuesday on Sponsor's website (the "Website") at www.newssunonline.com (the "Posted Photos"). On the first Monday of each month, a random drawing from among all Posted Photos from the prior month will be conducted by Sponsor's designated judges, whose decisions are final, to determine one (1) winner. The winner will be notified that they may have won a prize in this Sweepstakes by mail or telephone (at Sponsor's sole discretion) on or about the first Tuesday of the month and winner's name will be posted on the Website. Winner(s) (or the winner's parent/legal guardian if the winner is a minor) may be required (in Sponsor's sole discretion) to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release (which is subject to verification by Sponsor) within the time frame specified by Sponsor or prize may be forfeited. If any prize notification, prize, or Sweepstakes communication is rejected or returned as undeliverable or if a winner cannot be reached after a reasonable attempt has been made by Sponsor (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion), the prize will remain unawarded.

4. PRIZES/ODDS: There will be one (1) winner each month during the Sweepstakes Period who will receive a $20 gift certificate to Petsmart stores. The gift certificates cannot be used for gratuity or tax and cannot be redeemed for cash. Additional restrictions from the issuer may apply. Total value of the prizes will depend on the length of the Sweepstakes Period.

Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received and on the creativity and originality of the photos. All prizes legitimately claimed will be awarded. All federal, state and local taxes, as well as any expenses not specified in these Official Rules, are the sole responsibility of the winner(s). No transfers, prize substitutions or cash redemptions will be made, except at Sponsor's sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the stated prize with another prize of equal of greater value should the stated prize become unavailable. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. Prizes won by minors may (in Sponsor's sole discretion) be awarded to or in the name of their parents/legal guardians.

5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: EACH PARTICIPANT AGREES TO RELEASE, HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFY SPONSOR, AND ITS PARENT, DIVISIONS, SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, ADVERTISING, PROMOTION, AND PUBLIC RELATIONS AGENCIES, AND THE RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENCIES OF EACH FOR ANY LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR INJURIES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND SUSTAINED IN CONNECTION WITH THE ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE, MISUSE OR AWARDING OF A PRIZE OR WHILE PREPARING FOR, PARTICIPATING IN AND/OR TRAVELING TO OR FROM ANY PRIZE- OR SWEEPSTAKES-RELATED ACTIVITY, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY INJURY, DAMAGE, DEATH, LOSS, OR ACCIDENT TO PERSON OR PROPERTY. EACH WINNER AGREES THAT THE PRIZE IS PROVIDED AS-IS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION, OR GUARANTEE, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN FACT OR IN LAW, WHETHER NOW KNOWN OR HEREINAFTER ENACTED, RELATIVE TO THE USE OR ENJOYMENT OF THE PRIZE, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ITS QUALITY, MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

6. ADDITIONAL DISCLAIMERS: Sponsor is not responsible and/or liable for any of the following, whether caused by Sponsor, the entrant, or by human error: any lost, late, incomplete, illegible, mutilated, misdirected or postage-due mail; technical or mechanical malfunctions; or errors, typos or misprints in these official rules, in any Sweepstakes-related advertisements or other materials.

7. GENERAL RULES: By entering the Sweepstakes, (except where prohibited by law) each entrant agrees, or each minor entrant's parent or legal guardian agrees, on behalf of the entrant, that Sponsor and its promotional partners and third party marketing entities may use entrant's name, picture, likeness, voice, biographical data, and/or any information contained in his/her entry in advertising, promotion, and marketing materials throughout the world, including on the internet, without additional compensation, notice, review, or approval. Sponsor's decisions will be final in all matters, including interpretation of these official rules and awarding of the prizes. DO NOT call Sponsor, as this Sweepstakes will not be discussed by phone, except at Sponsor's sole discretion. All participants, or minor participants' parents or legal guardians, as a condition of entry, agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of Sponsor. Failure to comply with these official rules may result in disqualification from this Sweepstakes. Sponsor reserves the right to permanently disqualify any person it believes has intentionally violated these official rules. Participants or minor participants' parents or legal guardians, further agree to not knowingly damage or cause interruption of the Sweepstakes and/or prevent others from using the Sweepstakes. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to void entries of any entrants who Sponsor believes have attempted to tamper with or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of this Sweepstakes. If the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes and award the prizes from among entries received prior to or after the date of the cancellation, modification or suspension. Any person who supplies false information, obtains entries by fraudulent means, or is otherwise determined to be in violation of these official rules in an attempt to obtain any prize will forfeit any prize won and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

8. WINNER'S LIST. For a list of winners, send a legal-size, self-addressed, stamped envelope to: The Lake County News-Sun, 2383 N. Delany Road, Waukegan, IL 60087. Requests must be received no later than three (3) months following the close of the Sweepstakes.
