Sale: The Van Hook Christmas Collection, originally displayed in the 18-room Bennett Curtis house in Grant Park in Chicago, will be offered for sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Hope Presbyterian Church, 32475 Alleghany Road. The Collection, now stored on a Libertyville estate, is vast and varied, in linear measurement, over 20 feet long almost 6 feet high, 2 feet deep -- 240 cubic feet. Included in the Van Hook Collection are Byers Choice Williamsburg Carolers, 100 large sterling silver tree ornaments, Reed & Barton bells and spoons, Hallmark cotton Santas and dolls, tree toppers, cookie jars and more. Gurnee

Grant: C. Clyde Elledge II of Annunciation Episcopal Church received a $43,196 grant from the National Clergy Renewal Program funded by Indianapolis-based Lilly Endowment Inc. The grant will support an extended period of intentional reflection and renewal that ministers, working with their congregations, design to suit their own needs and aspirations for pastoral renewal.
