Art Jack Benny Center for the Arts: Bowen Park, 1800 N. Sheridan Road, Waukegan. www.lcal.org . The Lake County Art League Fall Members' Show is on display thorugh Nov. 16. The show, bigger than ever this year, presents over 40 pieces of fine art created by local artists and includes acrylic, oil, and watercolor paintings; pastel and scratchboard art; plus photographs and mixed media work. Award-winning watercolor artist Davida Schulman will conduct a critique of the artwork at 7 p.m. Nov. 16.

Gallery on Genesee: 114 S. Genesee, Waukegan. (847) 913-3913. Featuring works by local artists, including Thom Kapheim and jewelry by Harriet Weintraub and Melinda Orzoff.

Lake County Discovery Museum: Lakewood Forest Preserve, Route 176 and Fairfield Road, Wauconda. (847) 968-3400. See and interact with the amazing structures built by local animals, including bird nests, spiderwebs and beaver lodges, at the exhibition titled Animal Architects on display through Feb. 21.

Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of art: College of Lake County, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake. (847) 543-2240. Recent Works 2009 exhibit will be run through Nov. 1.

Medley Patch 22: 15900 Kelly Road, Wadsworth. (847) 336-0120 or www.patch22.biz . The pumpkin farm is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through October. It features pony rides, hay rides, farm animals, farm grown pumpkin patch, haunted hay loft and more. Deliveries available.

Theater

Museums

Hig hland Park Historical Society Museum: 326 Central Ave. (847) 432-7090. The museum is a two story Italianate Victorian house donated by Jean Butz James in 1968. The house has many interesting and unique architectural features. A free exhibit entitled "City in a Park -- Place of Natural Beauty," celebrating the work of Jens Jensen and other landscape architects of the early 20th century will be on display through November.

P RAIRIE GRASS NATURE MUSEUM: 860 Hart Road, Round Lake, (847) 546-8558. Open Wednesdays and Saturdays 9:30 a.m.-noon. Free. Mother RUDD HISTORIC HOUSE: 4690 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee. (847) 263-9540. Current exhibit shows building techniques of the mid-19th Century.
