Waukegan police officers Mike Leusch pets Freedom at Ridge River Farm before the police horses are taken off to work with the U.S. Park Police in Washington, D.C.
 (Michael Schmidt/News-Sun)
The word from Washington, D.C., on Sunday night was that Freedom, Justice and Bob -- the three Waukegan police horses whose jobs fell victim to budget cuts -- had arrived safely at their new home following a daylong journey in a U.S. Park Police trailer. The process of donating the horses to the National Park Service was set in motion last year when city officials announced that the five-year-old equestrian unit would be disbanded.

If so, tell us about him or her in 250 words or less.
