Just in time for the premiere of AMC's "The Prisoner" remake, we learn Illinois may be the home to some 200 al-Qaida terrorists currently near a Cuban beach in Guantanamo Bay. The Hound says ship them to the Thomson Correctional Center. We might as well make something off the Jihadists.

Woman allegedly showed sex clips to kids

A 33-year-old Lake Villa woman was arrested after she allegedly
showed elementary school children sexually-orientated video clips as
they exited the bus. Lake County sheriff's deputies arrested
April Jackson of 21930 W. 7th St, unincorporated Lake Villa, and
charged her with disorderly conduct.
Woman charged with sex abuse of boy

Laura A. Bailey, 47, of 596 E. London Court, Round Lake Beach, is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old boy. She faces two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 offense. Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Stephen Scheller said Bailey was brought into custody after admitting to engaging in sex with the teen on multiple occasions.

Adam Kalinowski, 93, of Gurnee was known to shower friends, family and grandkids with candy. Sadly, Kalinowski died in a car crash Wednesday night on Washington Street at Cemetery Road. His
friends at Knollwood Club in Lake Forest will always remember him as
"the candy man" and namesake of the Caddy of the Year Award.

Zion-Benton High's girls basketball team came out strong
defensively and crushed the Deerfield Warriors 64-39 on Thursday in the Z-B coaching debut of Hall of Fame coach Tanya Johnson. Sophomore Octavia Crump led the way, including a second-quarter outburst that helped break the game open.

Bonato: You've gotta give Waukegan High senior Jessica Valdez her props for this one. In October, she was elected Homecoming queen by her classmates. And, as befits a queen, Jessica will have the best seat in the Dawg Pound for Waukegan High's boys basketball games this winter.
Dairyland track denies euthanasia rumor

There is no truth to the rumor that dogs may be euthanized after Dairyland Greyhound Park in Kenosha closes Dec. 31. Chicago resident Joanne Kehoe, who owns two greyhounds, said she e-mailed a link to fellow dog lovers that gave out the Dairyland Race Track Adoption Center's phone number. "I never said that these dogs might be euthanized ..."

Lake Villa 'desirable'

Small to mid-size retailers could be attracted to Lake Villa, but
there's no room for a large grocery store or big-box store of any kind, according to the redevelopment strategy presented to village officials and the public Wednesday. Scott Goldstein, who has been working on a plan with the village's Economic Development Commission, said "This is a very desirable location."
