Bowen Park Theatre Company prepares 'Waiting for Godot'

May 6, 2008

WAUKEGAN -- The Bowen Park Theatre Company will present Samuel Beckett's "Waiting for Godot" May 9-24 at the Dr. Lynn Schornick Theatre in the Jack Benny Center for the Arts, 39 Jack Benny Drive.

"Waiting for Godot" is a tragicomedy in two acts. It is the story of two men waiting on a country road by a tree for Godot's arrival, and Godot never comes. The absence of Godot has led to many different interpretations since the play premiered in 1953.

The cast includes Jason Clark, Shawn Fitzgerald, Tom Colvin, Jeff Richter and Dylan Cartwright and is directed by Eibhlin Glennon.

Tickets are available for May 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, and 24, with a curtain at 8 p.m. and a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday.

Individual tickets may be purchased in advance at Waukegan Park District's Jack Benny Center for the Arts, by phone at (847) 360-4740, or online through www.ticketweb.com .

Bowen Park Theatre Company is a professional, non-union/non-Equity company that has been a part of the Lake County community since 1987. The Bowen Park Theatre Company is sponsored in part by the Waukegan Park District and the Illinois Arts Council, an agency of the State of Illinois and the Waukegan Park District-Cultural Arts Division.
