Performance: Walt Disney's musical "Beauty and the Beast" will be on stage at the PM&L Theatre, 77 Main St. at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays Nov. 6-21, and at 2:30 p.m.. Sundays Nov. 8-22. Magic: Bradley Fields, one of the world's most popular magicians, brings his full-length magic show, "Out of Thin Air!," at 3 p.m. Nov. 7 to the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Lake County, 19351 W. Pumpkins: Guests can bring in a pumpkin to Six Flags Great America, I-94 and Route 132 on Sunday and receive a discounted admission ticket for $24.99, a savings of $30 off the main gate ticket price. Guests will also have the option to attend a pumpkin smashing celebration at 3 p.m. in Hometown Square. Concert: The Pilgrim Chamber Players will open its 13th season with guest Sam Magad, former concertmaster of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and members of the CSO at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Park Community House, 1991 Sheridan Road. Pianist Carol Honigberg joins the ensemble for Cesar Franck's passionate "Piano Quintet in F Major." Flutist Anita Rieder opens the program performing Maurice Durufle's beautiful work from 1928, "Prelude, Recitatif et Variations Op. 3 for Flute, Viola and Piano." Veterans program: Seniors are invited to honor our veterans and show appreciation and support Nov. 11 at The Libertyville Senior Center, 135 W. Tea: The annual Clara's Tea will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Nov. 7 at Trattoria Pomigliano, 602 North Milwaukee Ave. Characters from "The Magic of the Nutcracker," including Clara, will be on hand to meet attendees. The Clara Tea will offer an afternoon of fun and entertainment for young girls and their families. Children can enjoy a storyteller and delicious refreshments. Workshops: Mangels of Long Grove will present a series of holiday design workshops offering advice and instruction on decorating with a creative spirit indoors and outdoors for Thanksgiving and Christmas from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Nov. 6- 7 and Nov. 13-14 at Long Grove Café, 235 Robert Parker Coffin Road. Executive designer Doug Clark will discuss the latest trends in home décor and demonstrate how to incorporate seasonal accessories into garlands, swags, centerpieces and tabletop displays. Mundelein

Pumpkin drop: Go "monster" green after Halloween and compost those pumpkins at the Mundelein Park District's free pumpkin drop at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Mundelein Community Center, 1401 N. Midlothian Road. Toss, roll, smash and watch those pumpkins soar with the new pumpkin "trebuchet" catapult. The catapult, spanning nearly 10 feet across, is a creation of Mundelein High School students. Registration is requested and can be done by calling (847) 566-0650.

Concert: The Lake County Folk Club will present folk music patriarch and national touring folksinger Joel Mabus in concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at El Barrio Restaurant & Lounge,1122 Diamond Lake Road. Mabus is a songwriter, picker, old-time fiddler and humorist. He has recorded 19 solo albums of original and traditional music since his recording career started in 1978. He recently released a new album titled "No Worries Now." Opening will be Lake County Folk Club member and singer-songwriter Marcia Krieger. Admission is $12, $10 for members, students and seniors. Waukegan

Contest: The Great Pumpkin contest will be held Saturday at the Harbor Place Building, 114 S. Gensee St. There will be first, second and third place cash prizes awarded. Entry fee is $5.
