Should you ever find yourself in the unenviable position of occupying a police holding cell, chances are you'll want to be on your best behavior, at least until you're released.

Unless, of course, you'd rather double your trouble by vandalizing the place.

Naperville police say Jeffrey R. Dillavou chose the latter course of action and now faces trial on charges of residential burglary and criminal damage to property.<br><br>

A lot of villains surfaced here Saturday at a protest held by We The People For Freedom on the steps of City Hall.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, high taxes, nationalized medicine, bailout packages, abortion, unions, politicians and even going green took their lumps by a variety of speakers for more than an hour.<br><br>

A young Westmont man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for his role in an aborted armed robbery last fall in the south-central part of Naperville.

But Luis A. Martinez could avoid that fate should he successfully enroll in and complete an "impact incarceration program," a state boot camp for first-time criminal offenders.<br><br>

For Naperville resident Coleen Zeri and her son Mason, the Ribfest fireworks show is a family tradition, and this year's show was better than ever.

"It was awesome — we liked it," Zeri said. "It's a lighter crowd ... we didn't even get out here till after the rain stopped, and there were plenty of places to sit. Usually you can't even sit down."<br><br>

Some things begin where others end, and in Lisle, the old downtown has now officially closed, and a new order has officially been ushered in.

On June 26, village officials, led by Mayor Joe Broda, conducted a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the Downtown Lisle Streetscape Improvement Project, a $20 million venture that began with a master plan in 1999.<br><br>
