Making the best of Turkey Day dinner disasters

The turkey�s still frozen solid. The gravy comes out lumpy. The guests arrive before the food is finished. Big holiday dinners can be tough to orchestrate. Don't worry. Most kitchen failures can be fixed with a little ingenuity and flexibility. If the buttered carrots morph into carrot soup or the cake becomes �pudding� at the last minute, no one needs to know that isn�t what you�d planned all along. The most important thing is to keep your cool.

Neil Gaiman to attend READS 2010

Local educators, librarians and independent booksellers announce Naperville READS 2010, which will celebrate the works of award-winning author Neil Gaiman. The 2010 communitywide reading initiative will feature the celebrated author, who is widely regarded for his books for both adult and young readers. As part of this winter's ninth annual Naperville READS celebration, Gaiman will visit Naperville over three days, Feb. 23-25. Public book discussions, presentations and other activities tied to the citywide program will provide opportunities for readers to share their reading experiences and enhance their understanding of the featured books. Colorful banners will herald the arrival of Naperville READS 2010 on streets in the downtown area.
