The owner of a car parked at 1028 Heritage Hill Drive reported the front license plate was stolen between 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday.

Reward offered in golf cart theft
Naperville Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the theft of a green/silver "Club Car" golf cart.

Fire destroys SW Naperville garage
No one was seriously injured in an early-morning fire that destroyed a garage and the car inside it on Naperville's southwest side and left smoke damage throughout the. The fire at 3013 Crystal Rock Road, southwest of 95th Street and Route 59, was centered mostly on the garage.

Police report: Resisting a peace officer
Noe Hernadez, 31, was charged Sunday with resisting a peace officer at Aurora Avenue and Ogden Avenue.

Help police Save 100
The Naperville Police Department and state of Illinois officials are announcing the kickoff of "Operation Save 100" by encouraging citizens to help save 100 lives and $100 million in associated costs by New Year's Day.

The Wheaton Police Department is investigating a report of man observed in the vicinity of the Avalon Lakeside Apartment complex near Briar Glen School who appeared to be photographing children in the area.

Sex offender charged with assaulting cop
"Bad" is when you're accused of roughing up an ex-girlfriend. "Worse" is when you're then found to be on the lam for a sexually-related, out-of-state crime. And "worst" is when you're being interviewed by a police officer about those allegations and you lunge at — and nearly tackle — the officer.

An ex-convict and an accomplice remained in DuPage County Jail in Wheaton on Thursday night, accused of creating credit cards they used in stealing or trying to steal more than $17,000 worth of merchandise from a Naperville home improvement store.

Reward for information on threatening note
Naperville Crime Stoppers are offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of person(s) responsible for leaving a threatening note inside Naperville Central High School on Oct. 30. The incident led to the school being put on soft lock down.

Car burglary suspects nabbed by cops
Two men — including one who survived a traffic crash late last year that killed two of his friends — have been implicated in a car burglary in Bolingbrook, after allegedly speeding and driving erratically on a major Naperville thoroughfare.

Police report: Property damage at home
About 11:50 p.m. Monday, property damage occurred at a home at 432 Lampwick Court; no further details were provided.

Firefighters save dog in Naperville fire
Naperville firefighters saved a small dog from a smoky townhouse fire Sunday morning, reportedly giving the dog mouth-to-mouth before using a special pet-sized oxygen mask to revive it. Firefighters reportedly found the unresponsive dog under a sofa.

A Naperville man remained Friday night in DuPage County Jail in Wheaton on a $75,000 bond, after being arrested and charged with drunken driving for the third time in little more than seven years.

Cops: Motorcyclist going 112 mph in a 45
A 20-year-old Naperville motorcyclist's efforts to get somewhere in a hurry were thwarted when an officer clocked him traveling 112 mph in a 45-mph zone Tuesday night. A Naperville officer spotted the motorcycle traveling south on Route 59 near 95th Street at an extremely high rate of speed.

Between 8 p.m. Oct. 31 and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, there was an unsuccessful attempt to pry open two automated customer payment machines at the entrance to Bill's Car Wash, 311 E. Ogden Ave.

Three adults were displaced by an early Wednesday morning house fire in Naperville that did more than $80,000 in damage. Nobody was injured.

Police report
Maria Cendejas, 27; 10:51 p.m. near Beebe Drive and Route 59, was charged with driving without a license, driving without insurance and improper lane use.

Addict could get ‘boot camp’ for Naperville burglary
A 19-year-old Naperville man who turned to crime to support his heroin addiction has been sentenced to four years in prison for burglarizing a house earlier this year. Jeffrey R. Dillavou could escape that fate if he successfully completes the Illinois Department of Corrections' "impact incarceration program," a form of boot camp sometimes offered to first-time or nonviolent offenders.

Truck fire closes tollway
No one was hurt when a semi truck caught fire on westbound I-88 just west of the Winfield Road exit shortly before 7:30 a.m. Monday, but at least a few commuters were delayed. Rescue crews closed down all westbound lanes for nearly an hour while they extinguished the flames.

Probation for school worker in sex case
Laura J. Obzera, a former Valley View School District employee, who admitted she had sexual contact with a teenage boy, was sentenced Wednesday to 48 months of probation. Obzera, 50, of 876 Bonnie Brae Lane in Bolingbrook must register as a sex offender for life.

Key Wester stabbing called a hoax
The Aurora man who told Naperville police he had been beaten and stabbed in an armed robbery outside the Key Wester restaurant last weekend was lying, officials said, and he now faces a misdemeanor charge of filing a false police report.

4 hospitalized after crash near Plainfield
Two adults and two children were hospitalized Wednesday night following a head-on collision near Plainfield. About 9 p.m., two vehicles were involved in a head-on crash on Route 126 near Ridge Road in unincorporated Kendall County, authorities said.
