North Carolina delegation visits Naperville
A group of 54 delegates from Cary, N.C., are visiting Naperville today to learn more about the city's public/private development partnerships as part of an intercity visit, according to a press release from the city.
Planning for the visit began in November when a group of representatives from the Cary Chamber of Commerce, the Intercity Visit Committee and the Town of Cary came to Naperville for an initial planning session.
"We are so excited to welcome the Cary representatives back to Naperville," Mayor George Pradel said. "This is such a wonderful opportunity to share with them the types of projects we're working on in Naperville and such a great chance to learn more about each other's communities. Again, this is living proof of success through partnerships."
Cary's mayor and city council members are among the full delegation. Naperville's government, business and community leaders will lead the group on two tours of the city after a luncheon presentation on public/private partnerships in the downtown, with a focus on the Naper Main and Water Street projects. One of the tours will focus on Naperville's cultural amenities, including the Riverwalk, Millennium Carillon and Naper Settlement. The second tour will focus on planning, development and business issues in the downtown.
